We are pleased to announce that our current project Oro Negro: As Two Worlds Collide (please note this is only a working title) has received Fiscal Sponsorship from Fractured Atlas. Fiscal Sponsorship is a financial and legal system by which a legally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity (such as Fractured Atlas) provides limited financial and legal oversight for a project initiated independently by an artist. As 'Oro Negro: As Two Worlds Collide' is sponsored in this way, it is eligible to solicit and receive grants and tax-deductible contributions that are normally available only to 501(c)(3) organizations.

Mark mentions; 'Heidi and Matt are a pair of filmmakers who created "Sonnemann", an astonishingly lovely and insightful documentary. For their new film, Heidi and Matt have been traveling through the Peruvian Rainforest, spending time with the indigenous peoples and watching as their lives are changed by the increasing pace of oil and gas mining. There were many interesting and innovative film proposals submitted, and the Rooftop Films staff all agreed that this film was one that needed to be made. We all found the film powerful and direly important'.
